Why Your Business Needs a Mobile Friendly Website

As the number of internet users continues to increase steadily, so does the number of websites. But not all businesses properly design a mobile friendly website.

That’s because more internet users are using mobile devices, like cell phones and tablets, to access the internet.

According to data from the International Data Corporation in December 2015, approximately 44% of the world’s population were predicted to have internet access in 2016. And of those 3.2  billion people, almost 2 billion were predicted to use mobile devices to do so.

Because of the staggering number of mobile users, it’s imperative that your small business website is mobile friendly if you want to attract customers. If your business website isn’t already mobile friendly, here are some more reasons you should make the switch.

Demand

Again, as the total number of internet users continues to increase, so does the percentage of moble internet users. Compared to the total number of internet users, as reported by the IDC, the number of mobile internet users is approximately 62.5%. If your website is not mobile friendly, you are potentially missing out on a large portion of the population that could be accessing your website and increasing your business and profits.

Traffic

As expected, website traffic today is tied to the number of users who access the internet through a mobile device. More than half of the time users spend on the internet is on a device other than a desktop computer. This means you’re keeping up with neither the market nor your competitors if you have not yet upgraded your site to something mobile friendly.

If your website is not mobile friendly, you might still get some hits from mobile devices. However, websites that are not mobile friendly are difficult to read on a mobile device. Many people will leave because of this.

Mobile Website Require Different Presentation

What the customer sees is going to either inspire them to do business with you, or inspire them to go elsewhere. Your goal is to get them to complete the transaction with you and come back to do business again. This means your mobile page has different requirements than a full on desktop website page.

It needs to be brief, bright, fast, and accurate. Proper sizing is vital for mobile users. This makes it easier for mobile users to view all of your information. All of this can be achieved by creating a mobile friendly website that captures and keeps the attention of the mobile end user.

Time Savings

Don’t turn away business and money because you weren’t willing to invest in a mobile site. Today’s customers are on the go constantly. As a result, they need to have the ability to conduct their business the same way. This results in a time savings for them and a win for you in the form of profits.

As you can see, there are many reasons why your website needs to be mobile responsive. Make the website upgrades and changes you need now to ensure your business continues to grow and profit well into the future.
