Three Things Business Owners Should Stop Doing Now

Do you want some more time in your day? I do! Sometimes when I’m heading to bed my head is filled with all the things I still have to do tomorrow. Business owners never have a shortage of things to do.

I’ve started saying no to more things so that I can say yes to the things I really want. When your to do list seems never ending, something has to give. Outsourcing allows you to grow your business and keeps you sane. So it’s time to stop doing things that hold you back.

Three Things Business Owners Should Stop Doing

Repeating manual tasks- It took me so long to get on the automation train, and for no reason. I just recently set up a recurring invoice with Due. Now I don’t have to create an invoice each month for the work I do- Due will send it for me automatically. That’s time saved, and one thing permanently off my to-do list.

If there is a task that you do manually each month that can be automated, wait no longer. Automate it! Outsource it! Take the small things off your plate so you can focus on the big things.

Skimping on health- Our jobs and businesses demand a lot from us. We need to be healthy to give it our best. No more having pizza for breakfast and dinner. Take the time for some exercise each day, and make sure that you have something green on your plate at least twice a day.  Your health impacts so much more than your work, so business owners need to make it a priority.

Avoiding the numbers- A shocking amount of business owners don’t regularly check their income and expense reports. I get it; when you’re creating products or content, and marketing and just plain living, it can fall to the side.

One of the most common reasons for businesses failing is lack of capital. You need money to keep the wheels moving in any business. So it’s critical that you keep your business books up to date and balanced. If you don’t notice a money leak when it’s happening, it can sink you. Conversely, you need to know which of your products sell best so you can increase traffic to them.

Business owners live a jam packed life. There’s always a new level to achieve, or a new dream to realize. With so much to strive for, stop doing these three things that are holding you back.
