Billy Idol – You’re Still Left With Yourself In The End
“It doesn’t matter about money; having it, not having it. Or having clothes, or not having them. You’re still left alone with yourself in the end.”
– Billy Idol
When people say “Money isn’t everything”, they mean that money is a lot of things, but it all depends on how you view your objects and priorities. People who depend entirely on money to help them unlock some sort of social achievement or guide them through the next path in life are going to be quickly carried away into helplessness and self destruction. However, those who wear money like an expensive piece of jewellery or a favourite sweater – an item of value that one could easily have lived without, an extension of personal style, an expression of one’s individuality but not the individual herself – are likely to control money before it controls them, and able to remember that above all things is a human being with the freedom to make and destroy herself, and that everything else comes secondary to that.
