4 Types of Emails to Send Your List
As most business owners know, the money is in the email list. You don’t have to have a website or online presence to start an email list. Regardless of what type of business you run, you should have a mailing list in place.
This allows customers and your audience to opt-in to receive special offers from you and get to know your business better. Businesses become profitable when people know, like, and trust them.
If you’ve started an email list but have no idea what to send your subscribers, here are 4 types of emails to send your list.
1. Exclusive Content
Your subscribers went the extra step and subscribed for your list, so you should reward them with exclusive content. Think about content that is not openly shared on your website or provided to your audience elsewhere.
You can provide unique tips, advice, a list of tools and resources, or anything else you believe would help your audience. Be sure to have new subscribers take a survey so they can define why they joined the list and what they’re looking for in terms of how your business can help.
By providing exclusive and helpful content, you can make your subscribers feel special and valued which can build trust. If your content helps them reach a particular goal, that’s even better as you’ll have already given them proven results.
2. Freebies and Offers
One of the best ways to get more subscribers added to your list is to send them a freebie or offer. Don’t just do this to get new subscribers however. Continue to treat your list well by providing them for ongoing offers and updates.
You don’t have to offer extreme discounts or free products or services all the time. Instead, use your emails to notify customers about upcoming sales or deals along with first access to company news and updates.
When I was launching a course, I reached out to my email list to see if anyone wanted to sign up to become a beta tester for a discounted rate. I needed beta testers so I could get reviews for my course anyway so it made sense to give the opportunity to email subscribers first anyway.
If you want to have long-term customers and clients supporting your business, be sure to use email marketing to help them get from point A to point B. Everyone likes motivational messages.
Your motivational emails can help humanize you as a business owner and even help your audience solve some of their problems or realize how your business can help them get the results they desire.
If you can’t think of any specific email topics to send to your list, just start with general announcements and accomplishments. Send a newsletter at least once a month updating everyone about any new developments in your business or achievements.
Don’t think of it as bragging. People want to see what your business is successful and reputable. You can even make it less about you and highlight success stories from past or current customers and clients. Feature reviews or testimonials in your email newsletter for social proof. Sharing regular updates will let people know that your business is active and thriving.
Effective email marketing can really take your business to the next level. Don’t underestimate your list as those are the people who will be most likely to support you, try out your offers, and buy your products and services.
