When you think about it, a great calendar is like a personal assistant. It keeps you organized and reminds of essential tasks or events. After all, you don’t want to miss a deadline or birthday, right? The thing is, there are a ton of calendar apps out there. With each one offering a variety of features that may or may not meet your needs. But, when it comes strictly to business, here are ten calendar apps that every business needs to use in 2020.
Table of Contents
Toggle1. Calendar
Are you tired of playing phone tag with clients, vendors, or investors? This free calendar – yes, you read that correctly – can put an end to the back-and-forth communication. All you do is simply allow Calendar to know your availability, and it’ll do the rest for you.
You can then share your Calendar links via email or embed it on your website. It also integrates with the tools you’re already using, like Google, Salesforce, GoToMeeting, Zapier, and Outlook. There are even cool features like timezone detection for your invitees, so there’s no confusion.
2. Google Calendar
Another free option is the Google Calendar – which is available to Google Suite members. As such, you can utilize the other functions that Google Suite offers with their calendar. For example, information from Gmail messages are automatically added to Google Calendar.
Google Calendar also integrates everything from inserting Google Hangout links to bill reminders. A reminder means that everything in your life is streamlined. GCal is available on the web, as well as an iOS or Android mobile app.
3. Fantastical 2
This app is a part of the FlexBits suite and centers around flexibility. With Fantastical 2, you can toggle between various calendars that you need to manage. The management makes it ideal for maintaining a healthy work/life balance.
The app also incorporates geofences. Geofence allows your calendar notifications to be based on location so that you won’t receive work messages when home. The app is only available for Apple devices, but it can integrate Google, Exchange, Office 365, and Facebook.
4. Accompany
Calling itself the “executive’s best friend,” this free calendar doesn’t just keep track of appointments. It delivers executive briefings – like professional history, relevant news, and critical info on their company – automatically to your inbox. You can also tap on any face or logo in your calendar for comprehensive information on any entity.
And that’s not all. Accompany also can determine which emails deserve a reply by letting know who the email is from. The app is available on iOS, but there are web client versions for Gmail, Outlook, Exchange, and Office 365 users.
5. Microsoft Outlook
Perhaps the most reliable of calendar apps, Microsoft Outlook, is more of a personal information manager (PIM). The app allows you to create appointments, organize meetings, view group schedules, and view calendars side-by-side. It’s also known for powerful email functions and MS office integration.
There are even tie-ins for Facebook, Evernote, and Wunderlist, and event directions from your favorite mapping apps. You will need an Office 365 subscriptions to use this calendar. Pricing starts at $6.99/month or $69.99/year.
6. Jorte Calendar
Another free calendar app that can be downloaded on either iOS or Android devices. Since the calendar is completely customizable, you can change its appearance. Additionally, you can select to receive event notifications on what interests you most.
Jorte can also be used to catalog your daily experiences and sync calendars, schedules, and tasks across devices. It also plays nice with Google, Microsoft Office 365, Evernote, and Facebook.
7. Kin
If you miss Sunrise, then this could be the best replacement. It looks mostly like the same app as the late and great Sunrise Calendar. It’s a simple, connected calendar that lets you manage your life in one interface.
Kink also connects with Trello, Google, Wunderlist, Meetup, and Facebook. Since this app is still in its early stages, you may expect some hiccups. Currently, it’s available as an iOS app but expect Android soon.
8. Schedule Calendar
Unlike other calendar apps, this one was built as a work schedule app. A schedule puts you in control of your employee-scheduling process. The color-coded fields can then be used to indicate when an employee works.
The color-coded fields can also be used to differentiate between home and work tasks. And, since this is cloud-based, distribution, changes, and collaboration can be streamlined to just a few taps. The app is available for iOS and Android.
9. Informant
Informant is a nifty multipurpose calendar, tasks, and notes management app. What makes it unique is that its natural language processing makes creating new events a breeze. For example, you can create a task and add it to your schedule verbally.
The Travel Assistant feature lets you manage international time zones. While the location-aware feature indicates travel ETAs, it’s free and available for both Android and iOS devices.
10. Week Calendar
The Week Calendar Planner focuses on helping working groups. It creates an appointment date and receives feedback from participants. Participants just check if they’re available or not available.
Easy checking makes planning your next event, like a monthly meeting, less painless. It works with iCloud, Exchange, or Google Calendar and is available for iOS and Android. You will have to pay a buck or two for the app.
With 2020 already underway, it’s time to add these calendar apps to every business needs.
