It’s still possible to get a decent email marketing started for less than $100 per month, and when you do it properly, it’s amazingly effective. Don’t pooh-pooh it. It’s still a legit way to get a solid ROI for your marketing dollar.
2. Blog
One of my favorite online marketing strategies remains the blog. If you’re a business, you should have a blog. Good blog content draws people in, promotes your legitimacy, and can even provide you with a solid platform. Your blog can be an amazing way to interact with your audience, garner more searches in Google, and generally market your business.
Creating content for your blog can be a challenge, but it’s worth it when you can put together a good content team. You may need to pay for content, but it can be a good investment. At the very least, pay for the bandwidth that allows you to support your blog on your site so that you can keep things moving and provide a place for people to come and see what you have to offer.
3. Promotions on Social Media
You might be surprised at how effective social media promotion can be. Boosting a post on Facebook can go a long way toward getting eyeballs, and it doesn’t really cost that much. I’ve found in some of my local projects that promoting to a specific audience can be more useful than an ad on TV or radio. It’s certainly more effective than ads in the newspaper.
Figure out what platforms your audience uses most, and then use promotions. You can use this tactic effectively on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others. devote a small portion of your marketing budget toward sponsored posts on social media and increase your reach and brand awareness. Eventually, it will pay off.
4. Google AdWords
Yes, this is still a thing. However, in order for your Google AdWords to be effective, you need to regularly review and adjust bids. You don’t have to do it all the time, but you should be reviewing and making adjustments at least two or three times a month. Google AdWords is one of the most effective online marketing strategies because it works with Google itself to deliver your message. There are plenty of free tools to use in addition to the paid aspect, so use them to boost your ROI.
