“Before you speak, listen. Before you write, think. Before you spend, earn. Before you invest, investigate. Before you criticize, wait. Before you pray, forgive. Before you quit, try. Before you retire, save. Before you die, give.” – William A. Ward
It is all too easy to act on impulse; to do what comes naturally without consideration of neither the potential consequences nor the reason for why we are doing the action in the first place. But one of the factors that can have a severe impact on one’s success is our ability to plan ahead.
This takes forethought, which is the foundation of what gives us the ability to listen before we think, and to investigate before we invest. Sure, it can be fun to fly by the seat of one’s pants, but to live your entire life like this will certainly have devastating outcomes.
With all things comes balance. To live your life to the fullest, it takes thinking about others, thinking about your future, and thinking about yourself to make the decisions that will best suit you in the long run.
