What’s Your Plan For The Rest of 2017?

Business Goals

We’ve got three months left in 2017. Sometimes we get so caught up in planning for the future that we miss the opportunities of today.  Before you dive into planning for the next year, make sure that you’re maximizing everything you can from this year. Three months is still plenty of time to make things happen for yourself and for your business.

Take this time to make the most of 2017. With Small Business Saturday, holiday networking opportunities, and New Year’s resolutions, there are lots of ways to make a big impact in the final three months of the year.

Revisit Your 2017 Goals

Before we hit the end of the year, go back to the very beginning of the year. What did you want to accomplish this year- what were your 2017 goals? What did you want to earn? Checking back at your goals for the year gives you a chance to see how many goals you’ve achieved, and to form a plan for the remainder of the year.

Reverse Engineer Your Remaining Goals

If you do still have goals to hit from the beginning of the year, think backwards to figure out how to achieve them. Say for example you wanted to create three new products before the end of 2017, and you still have one to go. What do you need to do to make that third product a reality?

Start with how you want it to look and work backwards. How will it fit into your business? How will it make your customers lives easier? You created your 2017 goals for a reason; check back in with why you wanted to do thos things and you’ll lead yourself to HOW you can do those things.

Prepare For Next Year

While I do think it’s important to take the rest of the year to work on this year, it’s also important to set yourself up for next year. Sometime in the next three months, set up a plan of action for next year. What you do NOW will affect what you can do in 2018.

Take the next three months to make contact with people you want to work with next year. Show up to events and support both brands and people you admire. Do your homework on what it would take to accomplish your 2018 goals, and use these next three months to do groundwork for those goals. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was your business.

Final Thoughts

These next three months hold plenty of promise for your business. Use them to round our your 2017 in style, and to accomplish what you set out to do. Every day left in 2017 is a chance to achieve your business goals. What will you do with those days?
