“What is most vile and despicable about money is that it even confers talent. And it will do so until the end of the world.”
– Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Not all truly talented people get their shot at fame and wealth (especially within their lifetimes), but the famous and wealthy can always afford some perception that they are talented. Even if they produce crap – and a lot of people have made a ton of money producing crap – there will always be a band of yeasayers and supporters with ulterior agendas sounding their support, and masses to whom crap appeals. Anyone with talent, no matter their financial backing, will have to work harder to strive for better, fight harder to get their validation, push themselves further, and maybe (just maybe) they’ll be validated for their talents.
