“It is not the man who has too little, but the man who craves more, that is poor”
-Seneca
Whenever I walk past certain stores, I always have the distinct feeling of “I don’t need anything from there, but if I walk in, I’ll find something I need”. Life is much simpler when we don’t want certain items, because then we rationalize that we ‘need’ them. Looking around and seeing only objects that we want but cannot have is not productive. Looking around and being grateful we have what we need is better in the long (and short) run. I know we can’t help but want things we don’t have, so my thought is, save a percent of your paycheck, whatever percent you can afford (even if it’s only pennies) and you’ll be surprised what you can do with a little savings.
