A study by Due on How a Web Designer Deals with Late Payments was featured on Intuit/Quickbooks business that found that 16% of all invoices simply go unpaid. The video recounts the real life experience of a web designer who found that, while his client loved the website he created, they were not willing to pay the invoice.
He thought the best solution would be to just take the website back over, but instead found that it was illegal and he got in trouble with the law for it. The Intuit video offers a link to an online guide about invoicing to learn what your rights are and how to handle those clients that don’t pay.
