No one is too good for the advice of those who have come before. In a culture of clickbait media, easily digestible top 10 lists for everything from self-help to how to run a business, and inspirational quote memes, sometimes it’s best to just ignore the superficial noise of internet strangers and deep-dive into the practical, applicable and often surprising words of some of the best business leaders in the world.
Due cofounder John Rampton and the rest of the Young Entrepreneur Council shared their favourite business books in 2015, and they range from biographies of industrial era leaders to How-Tos on applying a lean startup philosophy for better decisionmaking. Rampton’s pick? Zero to One: Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Future by Peter Thiel. “If you’re an entrepreneur looking to start your next venture, you need to read this book written by Paypal founder Peter Thiel. It goes into what type of startups our world needs. We don’t need more clones or companies that are like other companies; we need new innovative ideas where you’re pushing the limits. We need true innovation.”
