“Money follows art. Money wants what it can’t buy. Class and talent. And remember while there’s a talent for making money, it takes real talent to know how to spend it.”
– Candace Bushnell
Money doesn’t guarantee class or status – if that were true, reality television shows would be much less entertaining, and lottery winners wouldn’t ever find themselves back in debt. It takes a real knack and wisdom to know how to spend money, potentially more so than making it in the first place. After all, it takes one bad decision to blow through all your savings, but those who are wise can take only a little bit of cash to make a lot more. The important part, as anyone who has sustained financial success will tell you, is not in making the money in the first place, but rather, knowing how to spend it.
