3 Direct Strategies to Drive more Traffic to your Online Store

Updated on January 17th, 2022

If you own an online store, you are not alone. In fact you are one in over 10 million. With so many options to choose from, how do you make sure your e-commerce platform is chosen over the others? Use these 3 strategies that will surely drive more traffic to your online store if utilized correctly:

1. Social Media Campaigns

Many associate social media campaigns with social media marketing. While social media campaigns technically fall into social media marketing, it is a very direct approach to marketing. These campaigns are paid advertisements that are strategically placed in front of potential customers, as oppose to free content posted on your various social media handles. Here’s a good place to start:

  • Facebook: This is the largest social media platform with over 1.5 billion users. For as little as $5 you can start your Facebook advertising campaign. When creating a Facebook Ad, you choose the audiences that see it by location, age, interests and more.
  • Instagram: Arguably the one of the most popular social media apps among millennials, this is a perfect way to reach a younger audience. With Sponsored Instagram Ads you can create picture, video, and carousel posts that can be targeted to specific audiences.
  • Snapchat: From geofilters to Snapchat lenses there are plenty of ways to advertise on Snapchat. Create your story – and snap away!

2. Identify Online Influencers

It is very important to delegate work to others whenever necessary. In this case, you won’t be delegating work to your employees but rather your customers. With this strategy you are essentially finding individuals with large online followings to endorse your products or services. Ideally these individuals are customers themselves. Hopefully a deal can be made simply by offering them your product or service for free as long as they promote it online. Instagram is a great place to find online influencers as you can easily identify who has the biggest following. This is a strategy often implemented by fashion brands as they often utilize Instagram to promote their products, hence the birth of the term “Instagram Model”. These “models” serve as online influencers for these various fashion brands and promote the goods via their content.

3. Content Marketing

The internet is massive, so massive that it would be impossible to quantify it. Additionally, content creation is vital for an online presence. Content linked to products promotes them. A super easy way to get content out there is through an online blog. Other ways include videos (via YouTube or other services), podcasts, or even guides. The more content the better so always look for ways to post!

In a world moving more and more towards the internet, it’s important to stay with the times. If you’re an online store, give these three strategies a shot and attract more customers!
