Mark Twain - The Things You Didn't Do

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.” – Mark Twain

When we look back on our past, what do our regrets consist of? This question is fundamental to the way we approach our future.

When we become so comfortable in the way we live we begin to become fearful of that comfy spot to change. This fear can begin governing our lives and become the greatest obstacle in doing the things that we really want to do.

Yet, are those risks really all that bad? In most circumstances, what you have to loose to make that choice really isn’t as bad as we conjure it up to be. Twenty years down the road, nay, minutes down the road, we begin to realize how little we gamble in those anxiety-based decisions that otherwise control the way we live.

And the only way to rewire our brain do these things is by actually doing them, and the more we do them, the easier it becomes to just say “yes.”
