4 Ways to Attract New Clients

Updated on November 5th, 2021

As a freelancer your clients are your everything. It is very important to not only keep close relationships with your current clients, but also find ways to attract new ones. Having too many clients is a good problem to have, you can always find ways to serve each in a timely manner without hindering any relationships. However, if you are struggling to stay busy and need to attract more clients there are plenty of tricks and tips to get you started on the right path. Here are four simple ways to attract new clients:

1. Offer Special Deals and Discounts

Everyone loves a good deal. Not only that but they love to tell all of their friends about how great their deal was. Offering special deals and discounts for your products or services is a great way to attract new clients. Don’t be afraid to get a little ballsy with your deals either, the more attractive the offer the more likely a client will inquire about your services. If you have the best deals around, the community will hear about it in no time!

2. Social Media

Social media is a great way to not only engage your current audience, but attract new ones as well. When posting to your social media accounts its important to focus on both relevant content and demographics. For example if you are a personal trainer it would be a great idea to post about your services in a health and fitness group. Keep your posts short, sweet, and most of all, shareable. Every time your post gets shared, an entire new network of individuals will be exposed to it.

3. Your Network is your Net Worth

A fantastic way to expand your client base is to get out and network! Look for conferences or networking events related to your line of work and start making connections. This will not only give you access to other relevant networks but it will also get your name out there as you begin to make new connections. If you’re feeling extra ambitious, you can setup your own event. This is a great way to meet new people and be the “face” of your industry. This is a great opportunity to touch up on your public speaking skills as well. If people are confident in you as a person, then they are confident in your abilities as a professional in the work force.

4. Testimonials

All the self-promotion stuff is great, but people love to hear feedback from others who have used your product or service before. Testimonials are a great way to get ‘free’ marketing from past clients. Post these testimonials on your website or blog so potential clients can reference them. It is also very important to keep your testimonials recent by encouraging new clients to write reviews of your services after the work is completed.

Its not easy constantly having to find new clients. Typically, freelance work requires a constant stream of new clients to keep busy. Use these tricks to keep the clients coming in!
