Make More Money: 4 Experts to Get Every Freelancer on a Profitable Path

Updated on May 27th, 2022

While there are many people spouting off on blogs and making money doing it, it doesn’t mean they are the right person for you to follow. Just because something works for them doesn’t mean it will work for you.  Whether you’re starting out, looking to improve in certain areas or you’d just like to learn more, here are some resources to explore from positive online pros that listen to their audience, produce results, and help you make more money.

1. Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield

This podcast consistently churns out top-notch, battle-tested online marketing information while encouraging its listeners to improve with ideas that actually work. Using tips, pdfs and a bunch of interesting guests that share their insight on topics the audience wants to know about. This podcast lights a clear path of action steps for its’ listeners without shoving information down your throat. If you like taking in actionable tips from an upbeat person with a warm personality, this show is for you.

2. Budgets and Cents

You can become more mindful of your bottom line as a freelancer while listening to the Budgets and Cents podcast. This show proves that two heads are better than one when Carrie Nicholson Smith and Cait Flanders discuss their journeys as freelancers.  Together they talk about a variety of topics like budgeting, making money online, being your own boss and other freelance-related topics. They present different ideas through a natural flowing conversation between the two hosts, often housed inside their own  personal stories and experiences.

3. Ramit Sethi

If you’re looking to increase your revenue, make extra money, or just start cutting your teeth in the freelance world, follow anything offered on these topics by Ramit Sethi. Sample his ideas on his site, IWillTeachYouToBeRich.com where he drops insightful pieces of knowledge. I’ve personally used some of his materials on how to find a business idea. They were extremely helpful and easy to follow. He also provides worksheets on how to grow your business and increase your rates.

You can also look him up on YouTube to test drive many of his techniques. If you can handle an occasional swear word and blunt-yet-effective advice from the Stanford grad, you won’t be disappointed. From time to time, I circle back through his materials to refresh my memory on a strategy to use. It’s also a go-to spot on the web for what to say in certain situations.

He creates scripts you can use like how to tell your clients you’re raising prices or how to explain your services so people will pay you more. This comes in handy if you lack the experience to do this or if you just don’t have the perfect wording at the time. It can also save you time researching random corners of the internet for wording an email or speaking on a call.

What I like best about Ramit’s work is he takes years to develop and test his materials. He works out the kinks so you’re not wasting money on someone’s experiment that may or may not work. He also truly understands his audience and their unique needs.

The Bottom Line

If you’re looking to up your freelance game or get better at different aspects of business, check out the people mentioned above. Your bank account might need to make more room for the money you start to generate after listening to their suggestions.
